Since the Carver Scholars program’s inception in 1988, the Trust has distributed over $25 million in awards to more than 5,200 individuals for their junior and senior years of study at one of Iowa’s public or private colleges and universities supported by the initiative. The program centers on providing substantial scholarships to students who struggle to overcome significant social and economic obstacles in the pursuit of their education or whose circumstances may not normally be taken into account by other financial aid programs.
